The review of National Theatre (by Péter Esterházy) was cut from Club Radio

03 th of Januar 2013

The cultural review of Péter Esterházy was cut from MR1 Radio Kossuth - according to an article which will be published tomorrow in Élet és Irodalom. The MTVA made a disciplinary inquiry against the editor involved, but denied that censorship should be the case.

" So Radio Kossuth asked me to give cultural review monthly, Trend-times, and I recommended Szilárd Robin to read, and monograph of Keresztesi which is very interesting and easy to read, exhibitions from PIM, Ottlik directed by Ida Kovács, Örkény from Eszter Pádár and the theatre, the National Theatre - quoted Esterházy from his writing which will be published tomorrow.

"The latter is not a political Spite (though why would not have I done) but because National Theatre will be covered up in half a year and in my opinion the National Theatre have never been so close to the audience under the leadership of Alföldi who wants to know this luckily nascent closeness" - continues Esterházy.

"Now one of the review has been cut. Those who strike out which the Hungarian Academy of Arts raffle turuls (decorated by the portrait of the Ministre of Culture) among them. No matter how suprising the review of National Theatre is the victim" - it can be read in the preview.

I would say Lajos Básti voice: How you dare to do this? Last, according to my memories, I was censored in 1981. Am I going to get a phone: I apologize for misunderstanding? Because suddenly we are in 1986 (namely then I could reflect to what happened in 1981)?" - wrote Esterházy.

" But I do not want to live in nor 1981 nor 1986. I have already live once, it was enough. The Nemzeti Együttműködés Rendszere as Kádár-mass, this way I do not want to cooperate with nation" - wrote Esterházy at the end.

The MTVA Thursday night said that investigation has been ordered in the case and apologized Péter Esterházy for the cultural review has been cut from Radio Kossuth. The MTVA objected to that assumption according to which it was censorship.

Judit Csáky about the National Theatre: When will be light in this country?

23 th of December 2012

The new - that Attila Vidnyánszky became the head of National Theatre - was commented by Judit Csáky (critis and the colleague of Attila Vidnyánszky) in the Radio Club.

Critics said there was nothing surprising in that Vidnyánszky became the head of National Theatre.  "He could not have been applied for, if the post is not promised him a hundred thousand percent. (...) There was a very interesting part of the announcement is that the handover-takeover will be conducted by Peter Fekete (Jókai Theatre of Békéscsaba's director) and not by Robert Alföldi and Mr. Attila. This is a very cynical, aggressive knack, I think, not only by Vidnyánszky, but also by the government. It also raises legal issues, "- said Judit Csáky, who also spoke about that István Pálffy (representative from KDNP) may be new Press Agent of Mr. Attila.

Vidnyánszky Attila - instead of trying to facilitate the situation by trying to make a normal theatre, bury the trenches, rise above politics - he makes the Theatre the part of a political campaign arm in arm with István Pálffy. What the hell want István Pálffy do as a Communication Director, I beg you. To be a media worker (who work nearby the theatre) is an extremely sensitive, very important and very particular job - said the critics.

Judit Csáky also spoke about that the János Vitéz (an opus of Sándor Petőfi) will be the premier show in National Theatre. " If I am kind - and I am inclined to be - I say it is nonsense. Childish nonsense to say that this is a very successful show Mr Robert did, nevertheless I will show you the best. This adequate reaction is called:age defiance. Anyway, if I'm not so benign, then I say this is part of a political campaign, "- said only Judit, who thinks the communication will not as be easy as Mr. Attila's ' the great successful story of Debrecen communication.'"

Mr. Attila dug himself into a political battle the lines behind and he changed it into a political fight. He made same with founding the Teátrum Társaság which has been filled with money since which has been applauded by cultural leadership. The real curse of the Hungarian theater profession is that two groups were separated: Right and Left and the politicians associated with this. These politicians phenyl theire teeth for the next Theaters led by Attila Vidnyánszky. Well, when are we going to wake up? When is Attila Vidnyánszky going to wake up? - asked Judit Csáky.

Standing ovation and weeping actors after the performance of Robert Alföldi

21th of December 2012.

According to the Robert Alföldi Against Facebook-community ‘At the end of the show the audience stood up and applauded throgh minutes meanwhile the actors, the orchestra, the boxes, the gallery were all weeping and Robert Alföldi too because it is inconceivable why do they (the policy maybe) have to ruin something that works, what people like, what they watch, that is profitable, exciting, lovable and living?’
‘The thousands of people who love to go to theatre is not a homogeneous dollop but – as it can be read in the guestbook – there are rightists who do not applauded for the government but for the theatre, for Robert Alföldi.’ – they wrote.

As we have reported Attila Vidnyánszky won the competiton and he became the head of National Theatre.

Margareth Törőcsik: I am 80 years old and I was desecrated

19th of December 2012

Margareth Törőcsik felt sore about that false news appeared about who she voted for. As she said, she voted for Robert Alföldi.

Margareth Törőcsik voted for both Attila Vidnyánszky and Robert Alföldi – this kind of false new spread. ‘This is a lie’ – said the Actor of Nation, when magazine Bors asked her. She was one of the member in technical Commitee.

She was so upset that her husband talked instead of her in the phone. Julius Maár said: ‘My wife was indisposed by the news but it does not change the facts: she acknowledve Attila Vidnyánszky’s merit, his ability in directing but I emphasize: I voted for Robert Alföldi!’

Margareth Törőcsik added: ‘ I would like to strongly tell that earlier I worked with Mr Attila. His competition was fine, but specifically it is not about who I love. I voted for Robert Alföldi on behalf on company, as a representative. I am 80 years old, and desecrated.’ – said the Actor of Nation, who is actually 77 years old.

As she said she was forced to sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the voting.

Actually I want to scream – Margareth Törőcsik about the competition

19th of December 2012
Although Zoltán Balog (human Resources Minister) said that every member of jury supported Attila Vidnyánszky, the winner of the competition, Margareth Törőcsik would have been glad to tell she had been the only one who voted for Robert Alföldi, that is why Szinhaz.hu (a hungarian webpage) interviewed Margareth Törőcsik, a very famous actor of Hungary (She won the Actor of Nation Prize).

On the news conference on monday where Zoltán Balog announced the victory of Attila Vidnyánszky, he said that only two people’ competition standed all demands. He added that after personal hearing, all of the Commitee members proposed Attila Vidnyánszky to be the head of the theatre. while 4 people vote against and 1 for Robert Alföldi. Margareth told, this is not exactly how it was.

‘From what Zoltán Balog said it can be concluded that me, who I am the member of the Commitee, voted for Attila Vidnyánszky and Robert Alföldi either, but this is not true.’ – said the famous actress to our magazine. ‘ It is terrible that nearly 57 years of experince at the age of 80 I have to explain the truth for a country but I do because what happened was so staggering.’- told Margareth Törőcsik.
‘Attila Vidnyánszky is my friend, and I respect him but that does not mean I voted for him too. On one occasion when I played in Debrecen, at dinner I told Attila, to made it clear, I was going to vote for Alföldi. I added that I love him, I respect him, I appreciate his achievement but the company delegated me to represent their views and I agree with them. Now I publicly declare that what Robert Alföldi has done was perfect and I would have liked him to be the head of theatre. The National Theatre started to become better and better and now it reached the stage of maturity ‘ – said Margareth Törőcsik to our magazine.
She also talked about how could happen this misunderstanding in this case. ‘ I am easy to be tricked, I never assume people are bad. There were four competitors, two of them incompetent, so two people came to be heared. After he left we were asked whether he is competent or not. I said his competition was high level. Then Mr. Robert came and I was the only who voted for him. I made my point of view about that I solely vote for Robert Alföldi. Subsequently they say I voted for two people because I told both of them are competent. Actually I would like to scream but I controll myself. How are they able to calumniate me?’ pointed out the Actor of Nation. She also confirmed that the competiton is absolutely derogatory because in every time cultural policy have been the power to decide who should be the head of the National Theatre. ‘ I do not really understand why this kind of “circus” is let. The applicants sit there in front of the Commitee, there are lots of silly question, then we vote behind them. It is a comedy! – said Margareth Törőcsik.
